JULY READING GROUP UPDATE

How is that for a summery look? Me, I am ready for a vacation from reading groups and this month I will get one, sort of. Only 4 meetings and I have already read 3 of the books! Meaning I get to read what I want, or what some bloggers call "reading my own damn books."

Summer is when you get to do what you want, right? Instead of having assignments and deadlines and schedules. At least I have retained that from my teen years!

  1. What a festive, summery picture to include. Like it! Ahh the beach, that would be nice. Glad to see you will be discussing Pip again and Lady Havisham -- could be Dickens best. Hmm. Now go ahead and enjoy your own damn books!

    1. Thank you Susan! I fully intend to enjoy my reading this month! Great Expectations is one of the ones I have already read. Can't decide if I will reread or not but it is the one of his I like best.

  2. Love that beach picture! Though with heat indices in the low 100s, even the beach can be a bit too hot to handle. A chaise in the shade with a glass of iced tea in hand might be a better way to enjoy reading in July.

    1. Yes, I prefer the beach at sundown with the breeze and the cooling temps. Though our LA beaches are generally cooler than my inland home.
But the chaise and the iced tea sounds fabulous!

    1. I just finished it yesterday. I found it very sad, the writing was excellent, and I loved learning all that info about the art world old and new.
