MARCH READING GROUP UPDATE

I must say, my reading groups are doing quite well at selecting books I am interested in reading! Or, in the case of Moonglow, a book I have already read and loved, so am dying to discuss. My only exception this month is A Man Called Ove, which doesn't exactly seem like my kind of thing, but there is a movie and it is by a Swedish writer, so I will take a chance.

If you are in a reading group or groups, what are you discussing this month?

  1. Are you aiming for culturally diverse or was it a coincidence? I would love to read Caravans; I'm waiting for Amazon to drop the price.

Dorothy reviewed the first book not long ago and I added it to my wishlist as a consequence. I am eager to know what you think. Didn't you review Moonglow already? Maybe not and it was Dorothy too, as she did A Man Called Ove. I think it's great that you are both reading the same books as that gives me two perspectives and I can decide whether I want to include them in my TBR as well.

    1. In the world of reading groups it is pretty random what gets chosen. But I did influence this month's selections, esp on Do Not Say and Caravans. I did review Moonglow http://keepthewisdom.blogspot.com/2016/12/moonglow.html. Dorothy did also. I loved Do Not Say We Have Nothing but review is still to come. Caravans happens to be the next James Michener in My Big Fat Reading Project and was my suggestion. I have an old paperback I have had forever but not read yet. Not to brag or anything, but having me and Dorothy for your two perspectives leaves you in good hands-:)

  3. Give Ove a chance. You might like him. I was captivated by him, but I always seem to have a soft spot for curmudgeons.

  4. I'm surprised I have not heard of Caravans since I've heard about most of James Michener's books. This one sounds good. Enjoy your reads this month. ps. I think my book club has temporarily died at the moment as people have moved or gone away, or had surgeries or whatnot, but perhaps it will revive later.

    1. It will be interesting to read about Afghanistan in the late 40s. Maybe you need to start a new reading group! I would for sure attend but I guess I am too far away-:)

I hope you enjoy your book club books. I am currently reading Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster for my church's book club.

  6. What an interesting list, Judy. I haven't read any of those books but they all sound very good. I can't believe being in five reading groups at the same time, even thow I would love it.

Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog earlier and Happy Reading,
