DECEMBER READING GROUP UPDATE

December is a big reading group month this year. Two of my groups always have a holiday party and I am hosting one at my house. Though I have already read two of the books, I look forward to discussing them. The Bookie Babes do not read a book in December, we just party, do a book exchange and vote for our favorite book of the year while eating and drinking in a restaurant. It's all good.

Do you have any reading groups scheduled in December? What are you discussing?

  1. Oh I thought you had read 3 of these. All but the Grann book. I'm trying to catch up in December, just my own reading. It's always a good month to squeeze in some great ones. Enjoy.

    1. Well, yes I read March Violets in November because the meeting was last night. You caught that! You are right, I have so many new great books I want to read this month. We will compare notes at the end of the year!

  2. You have juicy ones to discuss. Hopefully the discussions will be enlightening and not too heated. :-) Let us know how all those meetings went.

I am curious to hear how you'll like David Grann's book.

    1. I love how my reading friends and I celebrate the wonders of reading at this time of year. I am almost finished with the Grann. My group will discuss it this week. I'll try to do a better recap next month.

  4. I was just recommended to read Grann's book. I do have a book club, but at each meeting, all the members present the book they just read and loved! It's fantastic to discover all kinds of titles across the genres, but terrible for my TBR, lol. December is actually the only month in the year we do not meet. we will be celebrating our 7th anniversary in January

    1. That sounds like another good way to do a book club. I do that about every other month with a woman. We were in a club that dissolved, she runs another group, so we get together and compare what we have read. The TBR is a hungry beast, isn't it? I am almost finished with the Grann book.

  5. I've been curious about Killers of the Flower Moon but haven't worked up the impetus to put it on my reading list yet. I'll be interested to read what you have to say about it.

    1. I just finished the book today. It is well written, well researched. A story worth knowing but it got me worked up, I will tell you that! Review coming.

  6. I completed The Pilgrim's Progress for my church's book club meeting planned for November, but it has been postponed till the new year. So looks like I am a book club reading break for a bit.
