BOOKS READ IN MARCH

Despite everything, I managed to do plenty of reading in March. Spring finally arrived with swathes of green, blooms, birds and butterflies. I visited 5 countries, 5 different states in America, and met 8 new authors.

Stats: 12 books read. 9 fiction. 8 written by women. 2 biography/memoir. 3 translated. 1 poetry. 1 YA.

Places I went: Ireland, France, Russia, Philippines, Great Britain. In the US, cities of Seattle and Boston, states of CA, NE and NJ

An incredible 8 authors new to me: Thomas Kohnstamm, Annie Ernaux, Tamirat Nafkote, Marguerite Duras, Anna Burns, Marina Tsvetaeva, Elaine Costillo, Rick Ferguson.

Not a bad book in the bunch but my favorites were The Witch Elm and Milkman.

  3. That looks like another good month of reading, especially with so many new authors! I like your idea of breaking down your US reading by state.

    1. I know, so many new authors. I have been reading quite a few debut novels this year. The US is so big that when a novel is set in a specific state it actually makes a difference.

  4. As always, and despite getting sick, you managed to read considerably this month as well. I look forward to the remaining reviews.

  8. You had a good reading month as usual. Those Taylor Branch books are good. I finished the first King one once but should revisit it. I like the Springsteen cover of Rick Ferguson's book. I haven't heard of that novel, so you'll have to enlighten us.

    1. Reviews are coming. I wrote the MLK one today, will post tomorrow. Yes, that cover plus I grew up in NJ. It is kind of a wild first novel but I liked it.

  12. As always a very impressive month of reading, but even more so with all those new authors you tried too! March was a better month for me as I finished four books, which is double what I finished in previous months this year and which is much more like my normal amount. I particularly enjoyed my re-read of the final Hunger Games book: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Happy reading in April!
