Once again, it is a light month for reading groups. That is fine by me. I have so many other books I want to read this month. I have already read one of these books but another one will be the challenge of the month. Can you guess which one I mean?
Laura's Group:
Tina's Group:
One Book At A Time:
Bookie Babes:
What books are your reading groups discussing in March? Which of these would you want to discuss?
Crime and Punishment?
ReplyDeleteI read on Sarah's Book Shelves comment section that you are feeling the pressure of writing reviews again. Don't disappear, Judy. You don't have to write about every single book you read if you don't feel like it.
Applause, applause! You are the winner of this month's Reading Group Update contest!! Yes, C & P, though I have always wanted to read it, will be the challenge.
DeleteSpying on me at someone else's blog, are you? I thought of you when I wrote that. No, I will not disappear. I may post some really BRIEF thoughts on some of the books. But I will keep going. I view my blog as the service I practice for mankind, to encourage reading and to pay back authors for all the pleasure and wisdom they give me. Thank you for being such a loyal and encouraging visitor and commenter. It means a lot to me.
It sounded a lot like spying, didn't it? :-) But in reality I always read every comment that has been submitted before I enter my own and that's how I found out. If we visit the same sites, I'm going to find out. :-)
DeleteI realize that now:-)
DeleteI hope you enjoy this month's reading group books and have some interesting discussions. Good luck with Crime and Punishment. I started to read it a few years ago but didn't get very far with it, and I'm planning to try again soon. I'm hoping I'll find it easier now that I've read some other Russian classics.
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen. Stay tuned, because I WILL get through it, I am motivated, and eventually my review will appear here. I appreciate you visiting today!
DeleteDear Judy, you are going to adore Crime and Punishment. I read it a long time ago in French. I adore Dostoievski. Actually, my favourite book from him is "White Nights" (reviewed last year). Have a lovely day ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to it! I plan to start it this weekend.
DeleteWow...good reading
DeleteC & P is good stuff! I recall grabbing it in high school & being blown away. Love Fyodor! He's one lonely bastard, ha. But I didn't take to the Brothers K much. I agree with Reader's Tales that his short stories like White Nights are good too. Can pour your soul into his stuff, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding to all the encouragement I am getting on C&P. I have wanted to read it for a long time and am ready to pour my soul!
