BOOKS READ IN JULY

July in the Los Angeles area has been made up of heat, fires, smoke, and ash. Good weather for staying inside with the A/C on and reading. I had so much fun with the books I read this month. It was almost like a reading holiday. Aside from making myself read The Taming of the Shrew as homework for Anne Tyler's retelling, Vinegar Girl, every single book was a favorite!

Stats: 10 books read, 10 fiction, 7 written by women, 1 drama, 1 mystery, 1 historical, 1 translated, and 1 fantasy.

    1. The thing is, the more I read, the more books I find that I want to read. It is like the sorcerer's apprentice!

  3. Goodnight Judy (here it is 11:20 p.m.) - your book selection is impressive and they also look very interesting.

In case you are interested, every two weeks, I post reviews of books I read... the last one was on Thursday, 21 July...

BTW the sunset photograph is really beautiful.

    1. Thanks! I missed that July 21 post of yours. Just visited. I am glad you like the photo. It captured what July was like here, but I did not take it. I "borrowed" it from Google images.

I haven't read any of these books but I am interested in reading Uprooted. My favourite read of July was Jamie Oliver's cookbook Save with Jamie.

    1. Thanks for stopping in Jessica! I was on a diet in July so I was not reading cookbooks. Ha Ha. Uprooted was an excellent fantasy. I think you would love it!

The recipes in Save with Jamie are well-balanced family meals so not terrible for a dieter, but you might be more interested in the recipes I try from the Hairy Dieter cookbooks; I am looking forward to reading the 4th one soon.
