It must be summer, at least almost. I only have 4 reading group meetings this month and I have already read all the books. That means I get to see all my favorite reading people while I read what I want to read for the next several weeks. I think I have got this down!

So I know by now that most of you who follow this blog are not in reading groups. But, if you were, what book that you have read lately would you most want to discuss with other readers?
I don't know off the top of my head which books I would to discuss with others; I don't read many books that puzzle me but occasionally some do, I just can't remember an example now.
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks for thinking about it!
DeleteI would want to discuss THE BAKER'S SECRET by Stephen P. Kiernan and BEFORE THE RAIN FALLS by Camille DiMaeo.
ReplyDeleteLOVED both of them.
I am sure there are others, but those come to mind first.
Thanks for sharing and for coming by my blog earlier.
Elizabeth
Thank you for your input here, Elizabeth. A pleasure to have you visit!
DeleteIf you read the books, I hope you enjoy them.
DeleteMy pleasure to have stopped.
Have a good day.
You have an interesting month of reading ahead. It would have been helpful to discuss Donna Tartt's book, The Little Friend, with others. I think it is open to different interpretations. Also the one I'm reading now - Oscar Hijuelos' The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love. Fascinating book on many levels.
ReplyDeleteSome authors just beg to be discussed. Donna Tartt is one of those. I have been wanting to read The Mambo Kings forever. Look forward to your review!
DeleteYou're ahead on the book clubs this month! What happened to the Snob book club? Taking a break? Interesting question you pose: I'd like to read & discuss Outline and perhaps The Nix & maybe Madeleine Thien's book as well. All ones you have read. Are all good for discussions? cheers.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Literary Snobs are having a break. I love how everyone is learning the names of my groups-:) I agree that all the books you mentioned would make for good discussions. I think I participated in an on-line discussion for The Nix.
DeleteSounds like you've got 'this down' to me too! With other readers, I would like to discuss the short story collection Sandlands by Rosy Thornton, which I thought was beautifully written and full of so many different themes, ideas and nature.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica. What an intriguing suggestion!
