I have a busy month coming up with my reading groups. Five different meetings. I have already read two of the books but it has been so long since I did that I am going to reread. I am looking forward to them all.

Bookie Babes:
Have you read or discussed any of these books? What are your groups reading in June?
Wow - a great reading month ahead for you, Judy. Three of these are already on my TBR list, and I'd love to read all five of them!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's pretty exciting. Especially because I get to discuss all these great books IRL with people!
DeleteDaisy Jones and the Six is one that everyone is currently talking about! I've got to read it!
ReplyDeleteI guarantee you will love it!
DeleteI have not read the Westover book but it sounds like a very strong cup of coffee ... so to speak. The children in the junkyard scenes with the rusty nails and all and the no medicine etc. have made me a bit chicken to go there. But I probably will eventually. hmm.
ReplyDeleteOK, I will let you know how it is.
Deletei read the Steinbeck once... he's a great writer but the book was sort of depressing...
ReplyDeleteWell, it is not my favorite Steinbeck but I will reread it because except for maybe The Pearl, any Steinbeck is great reading.
DeleteNice variety here for sure and plenty to discuss with Educated and Daisy Jones.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. I think so too.
DeleteGreat line-up for June! I remember loving The Winter of Our Discontent in my late teens/early twenties, but am sure there was much more to it than I was able to grasp at the time. Steinbeck has long been one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI listened to Educated last year... a tough read. The audio had me literally cringing at times.
My book group discussed Where the Crawdads Sing yesterday and selected Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger (any relation?) for July. I've been wanting to read that one for a while.
I am enjoying The Winter of Our Discontent as I reread it now and finding more in it than I did the first time. You are the second one to warn me about Educated. I am not related to William Kent Krueger but I want to read him as well. I am about to read Crawdads, having heard from many of my friends how good it is.
DeleteGood luck with your reading and book club discussions. I have The Blue on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carmen. I am so excited about reading The Blue.
DeleteSounds like you have another month of great reads for your book club groups.
ReplyDeleteThis evening is the first one, for The Winter of Our Discontent.
DeleteAt the end of this month, my church's book club will be meeting to discuss Christian musician, Vicky Beeching's memoir Undivided.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reporting in, Jessica.
DeleteThe Blue was one of my favorite books of the year 2018: https://wordsandpeace.com/2018/11/27/book-review-the-blue/
ReplyDeleteIt was your review that made me want to read it! I just started it today and it is so far a wonderful story.
