Great month! I enjoyed American Marriage and LOVED Sunburned.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. Isn't reading great?
DeleteThe cover for The Map of Salt and Stars is so beautiful that I want to check it out just for that alone! Looks like you had a great reading month!
ReplyDeleteCarrie @ The Butterfly Reader
Thank you for stopping by and commenting Carries. I was so impressed with that book. Will go now and check out your blog.
DeleteYou had a good October! I liked American Marriage and Sunburn too -- and I've had Miriam Toews book on my shelves for a long time ... waiting for just the right time when I can read about this subject matter. She's quite well thought of in Canada.
ReplyDeleteMiriam Towes! I had had that book for years too. She is amazing. Somehow despite the subject matter she offers a big shout out for so many positive things including sisters and family. I loved All My Puny Sorrows so much and when you read it you will be surprised to learn from whom she got the title!
Deletegreat month! As I said I think on your review post, I really enjoy Erpenbeck's previous book and want to try this one. She's an amazing author
ReplyDeleteYes, I definitely want to read more by Erpenbeck!
DeleteSo many books, as always! :-) I'm curious to know what you thought of The Messenger. Bye Bye Blondie's cover looks like one of a graphic novel. I already read your review so I know it's nothing like it.
ReplyDeleteMy next review will be The Messenger. Many of the American publications of Despentes's books have that look. I love it! And her books are pretty graphic but not in that way!
DeleteSo many books read! Where do you find the time? Or maybe you are just a really fast reader. I am full of envy.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just made the time. I have become a pretty boring person. All I do is read-:)
DeleteJudy, another great month - I'm afraid I haven't read any of these books though. Happy reading in November.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok. We read what we like to read. Happy reading in November to you! Thanks so much for always stopping by to comment.
